Things must have been looking really good for the guys at the time this issue was published. 'Baby I Know' had been a big Top 10 hit in the UK and Germany while record sales in France remained very high.

A new recording contract with Polydor had been agreed. Before that, one final single 'Ladies Of Laredo' was contractually obliged to be released on State Records. The lyrics are included in this issue. However, it was the first of several singles that failed to chart in the UK, probably due to the length of the recording (around 6 minutes) being too long to make the radio playlists. Meanwhile 'Allez Oop' and 'Ooh La La' were both destined for the Top 5 in France, Germany etc...

John ended up providing lead vocals, though I understand Tony was originally going to sing it. Mick Clarke still has a copy of the original demo recording (Mick kept a lot of stuff including some of the original suits) which he felt was much better than the final, polished master recording. That's often the way. I hope to get him to play it one day.
