I've now been able to scan and upload an original copy of this edition.
The single 'Baby I Know' had begun it's climb up the UK chart. John recently told me that it looked like the band were about
to be dropped by their record company. However, the day that their manager met up with Polydor Records representatives, the
single sold 20,000 copies and shot into the Top 20. Eventually selling well over 100,000 copies in the UK alone. Nowadays
those kind of sales would probably ensure a # 1 single. Even so 'Baby I Know' gave the band a creditable Top 10 extension
to their recording career.
Polydor made the strange decision to release Alan & John's single 'You're Married' at the same time as 'Baby I Know'.
It's hardly surprising therefore that the single didn't receive any promotion as the band would have been tied up promoting
the record that was already in the charts...
